One litre of cobra venom seized in Sangli

Sangli (Maha), Dec 15 (PTI) A cobra venom, estimated to worth Rs 1.12 crore, was today recovered from a shop in the city, police said. The venom, measuring one litre in quantity, was recovered from a xerox shop in Vishrambag area of the city, said DSP Dilip Sawant. Police suspect that the venom was illegally procured from an unknown source and was meant to be distributed at some places. The Crime Branch has arrested Abbas Hasan Mulla and Chandrakant Nana Tikar in this connection and are searching for another suspect Maruti Ghatage who is absconding. PTI CORR NSK
