Raipur, Dec 8 (PTI) Nearly 250, among thousands of teachers in Chhattisgarh who were striking work since December 3 for a better salary package, have been dismissed by the state government. The state government also rejected their two core demands, of merger of their posts with regular state government education cadre and salary hikes by implementing the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations. The teachers strongly condemned the move calling it "dictatorship" in a democratic country. "A total of 250 probationary teachers of Raipur among 5000 protestors agitating at Budhatalab here have been dismissed after they ignored the government's warning to roll back their protest and return to school," Raipur Collector Siddharth Komal Pardeshi told PTI. The rest of the protestors have been given an ultimatum till tomorrow afternoon to return to their work, or else stringent action will be taken against them, he said. "If they don't roll back their protest, then waiting list candidates will be appointed in their place," he said. PTI TKP BA
