Kolkata, Nov 24 (PTI) CPI(M) leader Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today slammed Trinamool Congress for its failed move to bring no-confidence motion against the UPA government in Parliament and said the Left parties' bid to seek a discussion on FDI under rule 184 in the Lok Sabha was expected to garner support of most parties. ''I wonder Trinamool Congress moved the motion without assessing its own strength which is 18 or 19 only. I presume it was aimed at gaining narrow political interests,'' he said at a CPI(M) North 24 Parganas district meeting. A day after CPI(M) politburo member Biman Bose dubbed the failed no-trust as the 'political immaturity' of Banerjee, he said TMC dared to move ahead despite being quite aware that it did not enjoy the requisite strength. ''We were certain that the no-confidence motion (against the UPA government) will fail. That is why we decided not to support it and instead sought a discussion on FDI under Rule 184. Other parties are expected to take part in it and such a move would be more feasible in cornering the government.'' Many parties are expected to support the move as they were vehemently opposed to FDI in retail. The CPI(M) leader asked his party cadres as also Left Front workers to launch a campaign across the state against FDI in retail 'since people are yet to realise what the Centre is going to do'.PTI PB KK HKS
